Beauty in the Broken
This is my butterfly bowl that has suffered through my smiles and tears. It’s cracks are sealed with gold, because no matter how broken, it is always beautiful.

Alphabet
This is my thrown alphabet bowl that I made for Empty Bowls. Empty Bowls is an event where students create hand-made bowls that people can buy in order to support a cause to end food-insecurity. The bowl’s background was clear-glazed and the letters stayed matte.

Octopus
This piece is one of my favorites. It's a purple octopus holding various different objects. It's front tentacle was lost in a fight with a shark. The text on the book reads "Live Laugh Love".

Circus Cup
This cup was made on the wheel and designed to look like a circus tent. The flashy, somewhat contrasting colors give off a fun and playful vibe.

True Blue
This cup is wheel-thrown and based on the song "True Blue" by Boygenius. It doesn't really match the lyrics of the song, but I wanted to portray the cool, soft melody of the song in this piece with the plant design and color choices.

Mess
This hand-built piece is supposed to portray myself and all of the things that make me, me. With all the different colors and shapes that the lines make, I see a beautiful, crazy, colorful mess. Further, the dark inside with the stars is a portrayal of my internal emotions.

Contrast
This piece was hand-built and meant to be a combination of contrasts. From the inside with the white background being swallowed by black drips, to the twisting handle and messy diagonal lines that make haphazard triangles, everything is meant to be strange and unnatural.

Wobble
This hand-built piece was an experiment of curves and shapes for me. I wanted to see how the clay could warp under my hands and how I could use additional pieces to accentuate the curves of the cup.

One Beach
This piece is another contrasting piece that was hand-built. The outside is brighter colors that remind one of the beach in the sun with the waves crashing and children laughing. The inside is the beach at night, when you can hear the waves crashing but can see very little.

Peace
This cup is meant to bring peace to the viewer. My version of peace is a blue sky, represented by the handle (which also has a subtle rainbow-stripey design to represent colors), white clouds, represented by the background, and a field of sunflowers, shown by the designs painted across the cup.

Smooth
This thrown piece is just a simple, smooth, plain cup, with the handle representing the soil of the earth, and the cup piece representing the midnight sky.
